Manchester United Miss Out as Winger Commits to Four-Year Deal Following Negotiations with Newcastle United

Newcastle United reportedly engaged in discussions with Omari Forson, the promising young winger from Manchester United. However, Forson has made a surprising decision to reject a new contract offer from Manchester United in favor of joining Serie A side Monza.

The 19-year-old rising star was given the opportunity to extend his stay at Old Trafford after making strides into the first-team setup last season. Forson showcased his potential by making his full Premier League debut against Fulham in February, followed by six substitute appearances.

Forson's journey with Manchester United saw him as part of the squad that toured the United States last summer, leading to his senior debut against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup in January. His progression continued with a start in a match against Fulham, albeit in a defeat.

Throughout his appearances for the first team, Forson demonstrated glimpses of his talent, including crucial contributions such as assisting Kobbie Mainoo’s winning goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite Manchester United's efforts to persuade Forson to remain, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Newcastle United, alongside Sunderland and Middlesbrough, expressed interest in the young winger.

Ultimately, Forson made the bold decision to pursue a new challenge in Italy, signing a four-year deal with Monza, who finished 12th in Serie A last season. Manchester United will receive a compensation package for Forson, who joined them from Tottenham Hotspur’s academy five years ago.
