Man United Begin Negotiations with Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite After Agreeing on Personal Terms

Manchester United have commenced discussions with Everton regarding a potential transfer for defender Jarrad Branthwaite, talkSPORT reports. The Red Devils have successfully agreed on personal terms with the 21-year-old and are now focusing on finalizing a deal with the Toffees.

According to talkSPORT, Everton has set Branthwaite's valuation at over £70 million and are steadfast in holding out for this amount. United manager Erik ten Hag is actively seeking defensive reinforcements this summer, and Branthwaite has emerged as a primary target.

Despite narrowly missing out on England's Euro 2024 squad, Branthwaite remains a sought-after talent. Manchester United are confident in his ability to strengthen their defense, though they are cautious about not exceeding a reasonable fee, in line with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's strategy to avoid past mistakes of overpaying for players.

While Real Madrid has also shown interest, Manchester United believe they are the frontrunners in the pursuit of Branthwaite. Last season, the young defender made 41 appearances for Everton, scoring three goals and playing a crucial role in maintaining their Premier League status.
