Arsenal’s star midfielder, Martin Odegaard, is now a major doubt for the highly-anticipated North London Derby after suffering an apparent ankle injury during Norway’s 2-1 victory over Austria in the UEFA Nations League. Odegaard was forced to leave the pitch in the 60th minute following a collision with Austria’s Christoph Baumgartner, leaving Arsenal fans and manager Mikel Arteta concerned about his availability for the derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

After the tangle, Odegaard was seen clutching his left ankle, visibly in pain, before being helped off the field by his Norway teammate Erling Haaland. The injury caused tears and immediate concern, with Haaland providing support as Odegaard exited the match.

This injury couldn’t come at a worse time for Arsenal, as they are already without Declan Rice, who is suspended for the North London clash. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faces a mounting injury crisis with two of his key players potentially missing out on one of the biggest matches of the season.

According to Norway's team doctor Ola Sand, Odegaard has suffered a “small ankle sprain,” but his status remains uncertain. Sand stated, “We will use ultrasound to assess the injury. If necessary, an MRI will be conducted tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland continued his impressive form, scoring his 32nd international goal to secure the win for Norway after Felix Myhre’s early strike was canceled out by Marcel Sabitzer before half-time.

For Arsenal supporters, Odegaard's injury is the primary concern as they prepare for the fierce North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fans and the Arsenal camp await further updates on Odegaard’s condition, as his presence is pivotal to their title ambitions.

In other Nations League action, France bounced back from their recent defeat to Italy, claiming a 2-0 win over Belgium thanks to goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele. Italy continued their dominance with a 2-1 victory over Israel, maintaining their position at the top of their group.
