Adam Idah Unfazed by Pressure: Aiming to Be Celtic’s Main Striker

Adam Idah has returned to Celtic with a clear mission: to become the main man in attack. After signing a five-year contract with the club, the Irish striker is determined to take his game "to the next level" at Parkhead. Idah's return comes after a successful loan spell last season, with Celtic securing his permanent transfer from Norwich City for a fee that could surpass £9 million, potentially making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Despite the hefty price tag, Idah is unfazed by the expectations that come with it. His focus is on cementing his place as Celtic's No 1 striker, a position currently held by the talented Kyogo Furuhashi. "I know people say there's a lot of pressure, and of course, there is pressure, but I don't really feel it," Idah stated confidently. The warm reception from Celtic fans has only fueled his motivation to perform at his best. "The reception I got from the fans is amazing. I've never experienced anything like that, and it motivates me more to score more goals and to be better," he added.

Idah also highlighted the winning mentality within the Celtic squad, a stark contrast to what he experienced in England. "I've not seen that before and to be that professional is unbelievable. I think it's a lot different down in England in terms of there's not as much demand on you, and you come up here, and you have to win every game. I think that's something I enjoy and what I thrive on," Idah explained.

The competition for the starting striker position is fierce, but Idah is ready for the challenge. "Yes, of course, [my goal is to become the main man in attack]. I think the majority of players don't go to a club to think, I'm just going to sit there. Obviously, I want to do the best for myself," Idah said, acknowledging the presence of Kyogo Furuhashi while also expressing his determination to push hard for the top spot.

One of Idah's biggest aspirations is to test himself at the Champions League level. The prospect of playing in Europe's elite competition excites him. "I was only saying it to my cousin, it's actually crazy now that I might get to experience that," he shared. "It's unbelievable, it's a massive step in my career and a big, big challenge. I think every young boy and every footballer wants to play in the Champions League; it's the elite level of football, and for me now to have that opportunity is unbelievable. I'm just buzzing to get going now."

With his eyes set on becoming Celtic's leading striker and dreams of Champions League glory, Adam Idah is ready to take on the challenges ahead and leave his mark at Parkhead.
