Leny Yoro made his first appearance for Manchester United following his £52 million ($67 million) transfer from Lille, while Jadon Sancho ended his exile in a 2-0 friendly victory over Rangers.

Manchester United's Friendly Victory Over Rangers

Yoro and Sancho were the standout players at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, each playing the first 45 minutes of United's latest pre-season warm-up ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill secured a comfortable win for United against the Scottish Premiership club.

Leny Yoro's Manchester United Debut

Just 48 hours after Manchester United signed Yoro, the promising 18-year-old French defender was thrust into action alongside Jonny Evans, a player twice his age, in the center of defense. The United supporters among a crowd of 56,574 at the home of Scottish rugby also witnessed Sancho's return, his first appearance since a dispute with Ten Hag last season.

Jadon Sancho's Return to Manchester United

Sancho, 24, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, helping them reach the Champions League final. He claimed on social media that he had been made a "scapegoat" by Ten Hag when he was dropped for a game against Arsenal. This friendly marked Sancho's first appearance for United since he came off the bench in a win over Nottingham Forest last August.

Key Players and Match Highlights

Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, recently signed from Bologna, was unavailable as he rests after Euro 2024. Andre Onana, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, and Mason Mount featured for United along with Diallo, who had a loan spell at Rangers two years ago. Diallo opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a low shot beyond Jack Butland from just inside the area.

Youthful Line-Up and Final Goal

Ten Hag changed his entire outfield line-up for the second half, introducing a relatively inexperienced batch of players. Jack Fletcher, the 17-year-old son of United coach and former Scotland captain Darren Fletcher, and Will Fish were among those who entered the fray. Joe Hugill, 20, sealed United's victory with a powerful strike in the 70th minute.
