The owner of the tiger cub that escaped onto the streets

The owner of the tiger cub that escaped onto the streets of Chachoengsao's Bang Pakong District earlier this week has now confessed that it was indeed a tiger cub. He surrendered himself along with the cub to the relevant authorities today.

Initially, he claimed it was a liger cub, painted to resemble a tiger for a movie, in an attempt to evade prosecution. Atthaphon Charoenchansa, director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation, stated that the tiger cub lacked a microchip, and the ownership documents presented by the owner were forged.

Authorities are also verifying the microchip and documentation of a lion cub found at his property, which he alleged was a liger painted to resemble a tiger cub.

This owner has a history of involvement in previous cases involving lions in Pattaya and has been involved in the trading of these animals for over a decade.
