Phuket to host jobs and career fair

Officials have confirmed that a Jobs and Career Fair will be held next Friday, August 2, to engage more people in work and further stimulate the local economy. The event, titled "Creating Jobs and Career Paths @Phuket," is organized by the local government in collaboration with Phuket Vocational College and JobBK.com Co., Ltd. It will take place from 8:30 am to 5 pm at The Pago Design Hotel in Phuket Town.

A press conference was held on July 26 at Provincial Hall, chaired by Phuket Vice Governor Narasak Suksomboon, who was joined by Phichit Singthongkam from the Phuket Provincial Employment Office.

Aims and Objectives

The one-day event aims to connect employers and businesses with job seekers to facilitate constructive discussions and suitable recruitment measures. Mr. Phichit explained that this initiative could positively reduce local unemployment and labor shortages while serving as a platform to motivate individuals about future career options.

Opportunities and Activities

Over 2,000 job vacancies from 50 leading businesses will be available at the fair, open to everyone, including students, the elderly, and disabled candidates.

Additional activities include:

• Virtual Learning Exhibition: Focused on career paths specific to the tourism and service sectors.
• Career Counseling Services: Offering testing and training on English language capabilities and guidance on working overseas.
• Lecture: On the topic of "Essential Skills in the AI Everywhere Era."

Exhibition Area

An exhibition area will feature products from home workers, OTOP groups, disabled people, senior citizens, prisoners, franchise businesses, and food trucks at reduced rates. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Commerce, will offer more than 100 low-priced Blue Flag products at discounts of up to 55%.
