Anthony Gordon considers himself fortunate after surviving a dramatic bike accident where he was thrown '10 feet in the air' from his electric bike. The England winger escaped with minor grazes on his chin, legs, arms, and hands following the incident at the team’s Blankenhain base this week. Despite the mishap, he remains fit to play in the upcoming last-16 tie against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday.

Gordon, 23, humorously recounted receiving stabilisers and a crash helmet from Mail Sport after the incident, acknowledging how lucky he was given the circumstances. "I could have been seriously hurt with the speed I was going down that hill," he reflected. "It happened so fast—I was on my phone, trying to capture a video for my family when suddenly, I was airborne."

The incident occurred during what was meant to be a recovery bike ride on a picturesque day. Gordon explained, "The electric bike, being faster than usual, caught me off guard. I tried to brake but lost control. Before I knew it, I was flying over the handlebars, landing fortunately on gravel rather than grass."

When asked about Gareth Southgate's reaction, Gordon shared, "He laughed, like everyone else. It wasn't too serious, just a few scratches. I'll bounce back and get on with it." Despite his eye-catching performance against Slovenia, Gordon expects to start from the bench against Slovakia.

Reflecting on his style of play, Gordon expressed confidence in his ability to impact games positively. "I bring unpredictability and a direct approach to the team," he stated. "I thrive on causing defenders problems and creating opportunities."

As for the humorous gesture from Mail Sport, who provided stabilisers and a helmet post-accident, Gordon joked, "I'll keep those stabilisers ready by the pitch. If I score, it'll be a celebration to remember!"
