MAN KILLS HIMSELF IN EX-WIFE’S HOSPITAL WORKPLACE
A recently-divorced man has died after shooting himself in the Bangkok hospital where his ex-wife works.
According to a Bangkok Post report, 46 year old Sutthiphas Thitipornanant arrived at the hospital yesterday, March 25, to talk to his ex-wife. It’s understood she is a doctor at the unnamed facility in the Lad Phrao district of the capital.
Thananthorn Rattanasitthipak, chief of Metropolitan Police Division 4, says Sutthiphas spent about 5 minutes talking to his ex-wife in her office, during which he handed her some paperwork.
It’s understood the doctor then left to visit patients in a nearby ward, asking her ex-husband to wait in her office.
Shortly after she left, a single gunshot was heard coming from the room. Sutthiphas was found bleeding on the floor, with a spent 9mm pistol cartridge found at the scene. The man later succumbed to the gunshot wound.
According to Thananthorn, the couple divorced around 1 week ago, having only been married for a year. Officers are continuing to investigate the man’s death to confirm the motive for the suicide.
