UKRAINIAN NATIONAL USING ILLEGALLY AS A TOUR GUIDE IS ARRESTED BY PHUKET POLICE

When it was found that a man from Ukraine was employed as a tour guide illegally, he was taken into custody in Phuket.

According to the Phuket Express, a 35-year-old citizen of Ukraine was discovered working as a tour guide at an elephant camp located on Wiset Road in Rawai, which is the southernmost part of the island.

It’s understood the Ukrainian was working as a tour guide for Russian tourists. He has been taken to Chalong Police Station to be charged with working in the kingdom illegally and carrying out a protected job.

In Thailand, it is illegal for foreign nationals to work as tour guides, a profession that is reserved for Thai nationals (but many do).
