Nineteen students from a secondary school in Prachin Buri province fell ill with acute diarrhoea and vomiting on Monday afternoon, June 9, 2025, after consuming the day’s school lunch. Emergency services at Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital received an urgent call around 2:30 p.m., triggering a rapid response to address the sudden health crisis among the students.

A medical team dispatched to the school found numerous students suffering from dizziness, nausea, and severe diarrhoea, leading to the immediate transfer of twelve to Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital and seven to Fort Chakrapong Hospital. Those with milder symptoms received care at the school infirmary, ensuring comprehensive attention as the situation unfolded in the community.

Authorities from the Prachinburi Provincial Public Health Office suspect the chicken rice lunch served in the canteen may have been contaminated, prompting the collection of food samples for lab analysis.
