The Red Devils are preparing for a busy transfer window following their first major summer acquisition

Manchester United have officially begun their summer rebuild with the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, but the club is already lining up its next move in the transfer market.

The Brazilian playmaker finalized his £62.5 million move to Old Trafford on Sunday, with the fee structured in instalments. Cunha has signed a five-year deal, including an optional 12-month extension, becoming the third signing of the Ruben Amorim era after January additions Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

With Cunha’s arrival confirmed, attention now shifts to United’s next priority: a top-class striker. Recent reports suggest Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has emerged as a leading target, especially after Liam Delap’s £30 million switch to Chelsea.

Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, netted an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances, including six in seven Europa League matches. His lethal form has put Europe’s elite on alert, but United face a major hurdle—their lack of Champions League football next season.

Napoli’s asking price and willingness to negotiate remain unclear, but United may need to get creative to lure the Nigerian international. While the absence of European competition could be a stumbling block, the Red Devils hold one advantage—Premier League status. Unless a domestic rival with Champions League football enters the race, Amorim’s side could have the upper hand in negotiations.

Regardless of whether Osimhen becomes a realistic option, United’s focus appears clear: securing a proven centre-forward is the next step after landing Cunha. With the transfer window heating up, Old Trafford officials are expected to push forward with their recruitment plans in the coming weeks.
