Police Crack Down on Illegal Service

Subscription Racket Uncovered

Authorities in Ayutthaya arrested a woman, identified as Chulalak, for running a subscription-based online sex video service that generated millions of baht over three years. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) conducted the operation in Samruan subdistrict, Bang Pa-in district, targeting a sophisticated network distributing explicit content. The arrest marks a significant step in curbing illegal online activities in Thailand.

Social Media Surveillance

Tracking Digital Footprints

CIB officers uncovered the operation through meticulous monitoring of social media platforms, where Chulalak actively promoted her service. She solicited subscribers with offers of explicit videos and images, charging 199 baht monthly or 499 baht for lifetime access. The content, featuring herself, her boyfriend, and others, was shared via private groups on social media and X accounts, drawing significant attention from authorities.

Subscription Model Exposed

High Revenue from Explicit Content

The suspect’s service lured customers with affordable pricing, granting access to intimate material through exclusive online groups. Payments were funneled through bank accounts registered in Chulalak’s name, amassing substantial profits. Her operation’s scale, with millions in revenue, highlights the growing challenge of regulating illicit digital enterprises exploiting Thailand’s online landscape.

Search and Seizure Operation

Evidence Seized at Residence

Following surveillance, police secured a search warrant for Chulalak’s residence, where they seized two mobile phones used to manage the X accounts and subscription payments. The devices provided critical evidence linking her to the operation. The raid underscored the CIB’s commitment to dismantling illegal networks that leverage technology to evade traditional law enforcement.

Suspect’s Confession

Full Admission to Charges

During questioning, Chulalak confessed to operating the service for three years, acknowledging the charges against her. Her admission detailed the extent of her activities, from content creation to subscriber management, revealing a well-organized enterprise. The confession strengthens the case, providing a clear path for legal proceedings at Bang Pa-in police station.

Broader Implications for Enforcement

Tackling Online Crime

This arrest highlights Thailand’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal online content, particularly as digital platforms become hotspots for illicit activities. Authorities are intensifying scrutiny of social media and subscription-based services to protect public welfare. The case serves as a warning to others running similar schemes, emphasizing the need for robust digital regulations to maintain Thailand’s online integrity.
