Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has announced that arrest warrants for individuals connected to the catastrophic collapse of the State Audit Office (SAO) building in Bangkok are expected soon. Following a devastating earthquake on March 28, 2025, the 30-storey structure crumbled, resulting in significant loss of life and injuries. The Prime Minister emphasized that law enforcement is finalizing evidence to ensure swift justice, addressing public demands for accountability.

Investigation Highlights Systemic Failures

Substandard Materials Under Scrutiny

The ongoing probe into the SAO building collapse has uncovered potential irregularities, including the use of substandard steel supplied by a Chinese contractor. The investigation, involving multiple government agencies, is examining construction practices, material quality, and possible breaches in oversight.
