WOMAN ACCUSES PHUKET TUK TUK DRIVER OF VERBAL AND PHYSICAL ABUSE
A woman has accused a Phuket tuk tuk driver of physical and verbal assault, sharing details of the incident on her Facebook page.
According to a Phuket News report, Kansiri Srisuwan also filed a report with police after she was allegedly abused by the driver at a Patong entertainment venue.
The authorities have confirmed they are investigating the claims, but have not provided any information in relation to when or where the alleged abuse took place. However, it’s understood Kansiri was with her parents at the time.
She claims the tuk tuk driver pushed her several times and then began verbally abusing her. She says the man also verbally abused both her parents, adding that in 24 years of living in Phuket, she has never seen such a level of abuse.
Kansiri has posted about the incident on her Facebook page, saying she went to Patong Hospital to be checked over following the alleged attack and is waiting for the medical report.
Meanwhile, Patong Police say they have spoken to the tuk tuk driver, who provided a very different version of events. It’s understood he too has taken to social media to share his side of the story, saying it was Ms Kansiri who attacked him.
Police are now examining CCTV footage of the area in an attempt to determine what actually happened.
