On November 24, thousands of individuals gathered at Saphan Hin Public Park in Phuket to participate in a walk-run campaign, sending a strong message against domestic violence. Organized by the Phuket Juvenile and Family Court, the event marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children on November 25.

Worawut Thawatsin, President of the Court of Appeal Region 8, flagged off the event, joined by influential figures, including:

  • Sittirak Duangsrithong, Chief Judge of the Phuket Juvenile and Family Court.
  • Vice Governor Adul Chuthong, representing local government.
  • Representatives from various legal and governmental organizations.

Their participation highlighted the region’s dedication to combating domestic violence.

The event honored the Mirabal sisters, Dominican activists murdered on November 25, 1961, whose story inspired the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
