A Dramatic Pursuit Across Six Districts

Truck Driver Flees Petrol Station

On July 13, 2025, a 100-kilometer police chase unfolded in Nakhon Si Thammarat province after a truck driver fled a petrol station without paying for diesel. The incident, which spanned six districts, showcased a coordinated effort by local police and rescue volunteers to apprehend the suspect. The high-stakes pursuit gripped the southern province, highlighting the challenges of maintaining public order in fast-moving situations.

The Chase Begins in Na Bon

Refuel-and-Run Sparks Action

The incident began in Na Bon district when 22-year-old Pansa Nintham, a local from Nakhon Si Thammarat, allegedly refueled his six-wheel freight truck and sped off without settling the bill. Local authorities quickly mobilized, calling in reinforcements from three nearby police stations and enlisting rescue volunteers. The coordinated response aimed to intercept the vehicle before it could evade capture across the province’s roads.

A Three-Hour Pursuit

Navigating Multiple Districts

Led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Narakorn Eadchuay, deputy superintendent of Muang police station, officers pursued the truck for nearly three hours through Na Bon, Thung Song, Ron Phibun, Phra Phom, Muang, and Prommakhiri districts. The 100-kilometer chase tested the endurance and strategy of law enforcement, as the suspect’s erratic driving posed risks to public safety across the busy southern region.

Bringing the Truck to a Halt

Tactical Measures End the Chase

The pursuit culminated in Muang district when police fired at the truck’s rear tire, forcing it to stop. This decisive action brought the high-speed chase to a close, ensuring no further danger to other motorists. The successful interception demonstrated the effectiveness of coordinated police tactics in handling mobile suspects across a sprawling provincial landscape.

The Driver’s Explanation

Claims of Panic and Memory Loss

Upon apprehension, Pansa Nintham claimed he experienced memory loss during the refueling stop and panicked when confronted by police. He further stated he lacked a driver’s license during the incident, which may have contributed to his decision to flee. Pansa told authorities he was traveling from Bangkok to visit friends in Phra Phom, offering context for his journey but not excusing his actions.

Legal Consequences and Investigation

Charges Filed, Tests Conducted

Pansa now faces charges of reckless driving, with authorities administering a urine test to rule out drug use. The test returned negative, and a search of the truck revealed no suspicious items. The incident underscores the importance of enforcing traffic and financial regulations, as police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this dramatic chase in southern Thailand.
