Phuket Police are searching for a black MG car involved in a robbery-murder case after a GPS signal was found in the province. The vehicle linked to the GrabCar driver’s death was caught on CCTV in Thalang district.
An investigation has been launched after the body of Thitirat Chatiput, 47, was found hidden in a ditch along the Nakhon Chaisi-Hai Plue road in Nakhon Pathom province yesterday (September 19).
Chatiput, a Bangkok-based GrabCar driver, has been missing since September 10. Her family reported her missing and authorities later discovered that the black MG car with registration number 6 Kor Chor 7998 Bangkok had been stolen. Initial investigations suggest that the victim was murdered and the car stolen. Police first found the vehicle’s GPS signal in Nakhon Sawan province last Friday (September 13).
The car was last seen on CCTV yesterday near the Thalang district office in Phuket. The last GPS signal was recorded at 1:12pm.
Phuket Provincial Police, in coordination with Police District 8, have ordered all police stations to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the vehicle immediately.
Investigations are ongoing.
