Manchester United suffered their 17th Premier League loss of the season on Sunday, falling 2-0 to West Ham at Old Trafford. Captain Bruno Fernandes acknowledged the team’s struggles but insisted they cannot afford to shift their focus entirely to the upcoming Europa League final.

The Red Devils were outplayed by the Hammers, with goals from Tomáš Souček and Jarrod Bowen sealing a comfortable victory for the visitors. The disappointing result came just days after United secured their spot in the Europa League final with a 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao.

With only two league matches remaining—against Chelsea and Aston Villa—Fernandes emphasized the importance of finishing the season strongly.

“It’s hard to explain,” Fernandes told Sky Sports. “Scoring goals has been a challenge for us this season. We need to improve, be more clinical, and show more aggression.”

He added, “We have two more league games, and we can’t just think about the Europa League final. Every point in the Premier League matters right now, and we have to give our best in every match.”

The loss to West Ham marked United’s ninth home defeat in the league this campaign. Since Rúben Amorim’s appointment in mid-November, the team has managed just three home wins—against Everton, Southampton, and Ipswich Town.
