The Chamber of Commerce is monitoring cabinet changes and seeking suitable candidates. Do not disagree to a 400-baht wage to support tourism.

The state minimum wage has already been raised twice in the first half of this year. The charge was raised to 330-370 baht per day countrywide on January 1, 2024, and then to 400 baht per day in ten provinces that are popular tourist sites (starting April 13, 2024), before the effects of the adjustment were extended.

Continue to be employed in the manufacturing sector.

On the matter, Mr. Sanan explained that the Chamber of Commerce understands that the government needs to increase the minimum wage this time. If you look at the 10 pilot provinces, you can see that they are important areas for the tourism sector. which is currently experiencing an excellent upswing. However, there is still a major problem: a labor shortage in the industry. Especially hotels with a 4-star rating or higher or those with 50 or more employees.

Therefore, increasing the minimum wage this time will help attract more workers back to tourism and service industries. This will help strengthen the Thai tourism sector’s potential for further strong growth.
