When polling stations opened at 8am, voter turnout was initially low. Local officials attributed this to the constituency’s many rubber farmers, who typically work in the mornings and vote in the afternoon. The EC estimates overall voter turnout will reach between 70% and 80%, reflecting strong civic engagement in the region.
