When Liverpool Can Secure the Premier League Title After Arsenal’s Stumble

Liverpool are just one step away from officially being crowned Premier League champions.

The Reds edged closer to the title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend, with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s strike sealing the win and confirming the Foxes’ relegation. That result extended Liverpool’s lead at the summit to a commanding 13 points, leaving them on the verge of glory.

All eyes were on Arsenal’s midweek clash against Crystal Palace, where a defeat for the Gunners would have handed Liverpool their 20th top-flight title—and their second in five years. While Mikel Arteta has repeatedly vowed to fight until the very end, Arsenal’s recent struggles have made their title hopes all but impossible.

Despite a dominant performance against Ipswich in their previous match, the Gunners faltered against Palace, surrendering the lead twice in a 2-2 draw. This result has all but confirmed Liverpool’s triumph, with only a miraculous collapse preventing Arne Slot from securing the Premier League trophy in his debut season.

When Will Liverpool Officially Be Crowned Champions?
Arsenal’s maximum possible points tally now stands at 79, meaning even if they win all their remaining fixtures, Liverpool’s vastly superior goal difference ensures they cannot be caught. The Reds could lose their last five matches and still finish top.

However, Slot’s men have the chance to mathematically seal the title this weekend. A single point against Tottenham at Anfield will be enough to confirm Liverpool as champions, sparking celebrations across Merseyside. The long-awaited coronation is now inevitable—it’s just a matter of when, not if.
