Ange Postecoglou Assures Tottenham Leaks Are Not Coming from Players

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has addressed ongoing leaks of confidential club information, confirming his belief that none of his players are responsible.

The issue resurfaced after online rumors suggested winger Wilson Odobert was injured, despite him being an unused substitute in Spurs’ 1-1 Europa League draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. This prompted Postecoglou to publicly voice his frustration ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Wolves.

Postecoglou acknowledged the leaks have been a recurring problem since last season. While initial efforts were made to stop them, sensitive details continue to surface.

“We tried to contain it, but the leaks persist,” he said. “I keep information within a tight circle, so it’s baffling why someone inside the club would do this—it doesn’t benefit us in any way.”

He ruled out agents as the source, noting the specificity of the leaks and the language used. He also firmly dismissed player involvement.

The Australian manager emphasized his cautious approach to medical disclosures, respecting players’ privacy. “Some players prefer to keep certain details private, so it’s unacceptable when that trust is broken,” he said. “It harms both the club and the individuals involved.”

Postecoglou vowed to handle the matter internally, comparing his investigative efforts to Jack Reacher, the fictional detective. However, his primary concern is fostering a winning culture at Spurs, who last lifted a trophy in 2008 but remain in Europa League contention.

“Successful organizations don’t operate this way,” he said. “We’re working to build a strong identity and mentality at the club. Leaking tactical or medical details goes against that—it has to stop.”

The Spurs boss stressed that while minor leaks are common in football, the frequency and nature of these breaches are unusual and damaging. His focus remains on eliminating the issue to strengthen the club’s competitive edge.
