Several top-flight clubs, including two from the Premier League, are closely tracking Bristol Rovers’ teenage sensation Kofi Shaw, whose breakout season in League One has caught the attention of scouts across England.
The 18-year-old midfielder, known for his technical flair and dynamic playing style, has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in the EFL this season. After a successful loan spell at Yeovil Town earlier in the campaign—where he netted twice as a 17-year-old—Shaw was recalled early by Rovers boss Íñigo Calderón, who has since integrated him into the first-team setup.
His rapid development has not gone unnoticed, with Brighton, Bournemouth, and Burnley reportedly among the clubs monitoring his progress. Championship sides are also keeping tabs on the youngster, whose composure and intelligence on the ball have stood out despite his relatively slight frame.

“I don’t want to give Kofi too much credit because I want to protect him,” the Rovers manager said. “We can’t rush his development—it’s important he enjoys his football. Physically, he’s not the strongest, but he makes up for it with quick thinking and excellent technical ability.”
Shaw’s clever play was on full display recently when he won and converted a penalty, showcasing his sharp instincts in the final third. Calderón praised his maturity, adding, “When the ball fell to him, I knew he’d make the right decision.”

Since returning from Yeovil in February, Shaw has made 10 appearances for Bristol Rovers, including seven starts, accumulating 584 minutes of competitive action. His early recall proved a masterstroke, with Calderón stating at the time that the youngster would “get his minutes”—a promise that has been fulfilled.
Shaw’s current contract runs until June 2027, meaning any potential suitors would have to pay a significant fee to pry him away from the Memorial Stadium. However, with Premier League clubs circling, Rovers may face a battle to retain their prized asset if his upward trajectory continues.
