Liverpool manager Arne Slot has weighed in on the contract situations surrounding three of the Reds’ top players: Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. With all three contracts set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, the stars could start talks with new clubs in January if no agreements are reached with Liverpool by then.

Despite this uncertainty, Slot is not concerned about their focus or form, as all three players remain critical on the field.

In recent performances, Van Dijk and Salah scored in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal, while Alexander-Arnold contributed to a crucial equalizer. Slot, the former Feyenoord coach, is keeping the team centered on upcoming challenges, emphasizing that the “contract situation becomes a problem if players don’t perform as well as they are now.” As discussions reportedly continue between the players and Liverpool, Van Dijk has echoed Slot’s stance, prioritizing his focus on Liverpool’s games and the challenges ahead.

Defender Kostas Tsimikas also shared that if any of the trio eventually leave, their absence would be felt deeply by the team.

“They’ve been here for years and bring experience,” he said. With the team’s current momentum and commitment, the focus remains on Liverpool’s campaign as they aim for consistency against Brighton and beyond.
