Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta cut short a post-match interview following his team’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The result saw the Gunners fall 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool, dealing a significant blow to their title ambitions. Despite controlling large portions of the first half, Arsenal failed to capitalize before Bruno Fernandes put United ahead with a well-placed free-kick. Declan Rice responded in the second half with a precise finish, but Arteta’s side struggled to build momentum after their emphatic 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League earlier in the week.

Throughout the season, Arteta has faced repeated questions regarding Arsenal’s attacking limitations, particularly their lack of a recognized central striker. While they remain Liverpool’s closest challengers, the Gunners have been outscored in the league by several top sides, including Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham.

During his Sky Sports interview, Arteta was once again asked about the team’s goal-scoring struggles. When reporter Patrick Davison pressed him on whether the absence of a prolific striker was affecting Arsenal’s title charge, Arteta dismissed the notion.

“No. It’s not about that,” he responded, turning to leave. Davison attempted to extend the conversation, adding, “Mikel, one more question? I have to ask about the title race—it’s 15 points now.”

Arteta simply responded, “No,” and walked away. As Davison followed up, asking if the gap was now insurmountable, the Arsenal boss only replied with a brief “Thanks” before exiting the interview.

The Gunners now face an uphill battle to stay in contention for the Premier League crown, with increasing scrutiny on their attacking efficiency and squad depth.
