Key Participants and Highlights

The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) is gearing up to celebrate its 88th anniversary with a spectacular air show, scheduled for March 7th-8th at Wing 6 in Don Mueang. This event will feature aerial demonstrations by elite teams from five countries: China, India, Singapore, Sweden, and the United States. The RTAF will showcase its capabilities with aircraft such as the F-16, Gripen, and T-50TH.

International Participation

Aerial Displays and Teams

China’s August 1st Aerobatic Team and India’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will be among the international participants, bringing their renowned aerial stunts to the event. The August 1st team will perform with their J-10CY/SY aircraft, while the Surya Kiran team will fly their Hawk Mk.132 jets. The participation of these teams underscores the strong international cooperation and friendship between the air forces of these nations.

RTAF’s Modernization and Celebrations

Procurement Plans and Anniversary Events

As the RTAF celebrates this milestone, it is also focusing on modernizing its fleet. The procurement of new fighter jets, such as the Swedish Gripen, is under review. This process emphasizes technology transfer and capability enhancement, with significant economic benefits for Thailand. The air show will not only highlight the RTAF’s current capabilities but also mark its commitment to advancing its role in regional defense and cooperation.
