Two Exciting Stamp Sets Announced for 2025

The Thai Stamp Museum has unveiled plans to release two sets of collectible postage stamps for 2025, showcasing a drawing by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and designs inspired by “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

First Set: Year of the Snake Stamps

Details of the Princess Maha Chakri Stamp

The first set consists of 10 stamps, each with a face value of 3 baht. These vertical stamps feature a charming drawing of three snakes created by the Princess, along with her signature. This release marks the 11th edition in the Princess’s Year of Zodiacs series, which has been issued annually since 2015.

Design and Significance

This year coincides with the Chinese Year of the Snake, and the Princess’s artwork includes three little snakes in green, pink, and yellow, accompanied by the caption, “won’t take fish, but snakes.” The Princess expressed her desire for Thais to engage in deeper learning rather than superficial understanding, referencing a Thai idiom about learning.

Second Set: Celebrating ‘The Little Prince’

National Children’s Day Release

The second set of stamps will be released on National Children’s Day, January 11, featuring two unique designs based on “The Little Prince.” Each stamp in this set will have a face value of 10 baht.

Design Features

  • The first design depicts the Little Prince in a desert, illustrated by an artist from the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation.
  • The second design showcases the Little Prince dressed in traditional Thai attire standing in front of a mirror, created by Auemphon Suparirkchai from Thailand Post.

A Celebration of Art and Culture Through Stamps

These upcoming stamp releases not only celebrate important cultural themes but also highlight the artistic contributions of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Collectors and enthusiasts alike can look forward to these special editions that reflect Thailand’s rich heritage and creativity. Be sure to mark your calendars for these exciting releases!
