West Ham’s Potential Lineup After Six Smart Summer Transfers

As the summer transfer window heats up, West Ham United faces a crucial period of rebuilding. With Mohammed Kudus likely to depart and funds needed for reinforcements, manager Graham Potter could reshape the squad with several strategic signings.

Here’s how the Hammers could line up next season after six realistic and sensible transfers:

1. Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale (Loan-to-Buy from Southampton)

With Lukasz Fabianski gone, West Ham needs a reliable backup for Alphonse Areola. Aaron Ramsdale, who impressed at Arsenal before losing his starting spot, could be an excellent addition. Reports from Football Insider suggest a loan move with an option to buy, providing competition and long-term security.

2. Centre-Back: Taylor Harwood-Bellis (From Southampton)

The young defender excelled on loan at Southampton last season, and The Athletic reports West Ham’s interest. Partnering Max Kilman, who joined for £40m last summer, Harwood-Bellis could solidify the backline with his composure and leadership.

3. Right-Back: El Hadji Malick Diouf (From Slavia Prague)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been solid, but depth is needed. El Hadji Malick Diouf, a highly-rated full-back from Slavia Prague, is reportedly a target, with Hammers News claiming the club is leading the race for his signature. His attacking flair could add a new dimension.

4. Midfield: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (From Chelsea)

West Ham has long admired Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and with Chelsea open to sales, this could be the perfect opportunity. The energetic midfielder would complement James Ward-Prowse, offering creativity and work rate in the engine room.

5. Attacking Midfield: James McAtee (From Manchester City)

To support Jarrod Bowen, the Hammers are eyeing James McAtee, as per The Telegraph. The Manchester City academy product, who shone on loan at Sheffield United, could provide the creativity and goals needed in the final third.

6. Striker: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Free Transfer)

With Niclas Füllkrug struggling with injuries and Evan Ferguson returning to Brighton, West Ham needs a proven Premier League striker. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, now a free agent after leaving Everton, is a strong target. His physicality and experience could revive the Hammers’ attack.

Potential West Ham XI (2024/25):

GK: Alphonse Areola
RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka
CB: Max Kilman
CB: Taylor Harwood-Bellis
LB: Emerson
CM: James Ward-Prowse
CM: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
RW: Jarrod Bowen
AM: James McAtee
LW: Lucas Paquetá
ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

What’s Next for West Ham?

If these moves materialize, West Ham could field a balanced and competitive squad. Selling Kudus for £55m+ would fund these smart acquisitions, ensuring depth and quality across the pitch.
