Cold Air Mass from China to Affect Upper and Central Regions

Temperatures in the upper and central regions of Thailand are expected to fall by 1-5 °C on Sunday and Monday due to a strong cold air mass moving in from China. This weather change will blanket the kingdom and the South China Sea, bringing cooler conditions across the country.

Temperature Drops Recorded Across Regions

According to the Meteorological Department, northern and northeastern provinces experienced a temperature decrease of 3-5 °C on Sunday morning, with Nakhon Phanom recording the lowest temperature at 7.2 °C. In Bangkok, the lowest temperature was noted at 17.5 °C in the Bang Na district.

Forecast for Central and Eastern Regions

Expected Temperature Decrease in Bangkok

The department has forecasted that temperatures in the Central region, including Bangkok, and the East will decrease by 1-2 °C. Residents can expect stronger winds accompanying this cold front.

  • Health Advisory: The Meteorological Department advises people to protect their health amid the cooler weather and remain vigilant against potential fire hazards due to dry and windy conditions.

Future Weather Patterns

Anticipated Warming Trend

The high-pressure system from China is expected to weaken on Tuesday and Wednesday, leading to a rise in temperatures. However, chilly to cold conditions are predicted to persist in upper Thailand on Thursday and Friday as a mild cold air mass moves in.

  • Continued Cold Weather: Government meteorologists have indicated that winter is not over yet, with chilly conditions likely to continue in the North and Northeast until the end of January.

Southern Provinces Brace for Heavy Rains

Monsoon Conditions Affecting Lower Southern Regions

Meanwhile, heavy rains are anticipated in some lower southern provinces on Sunday and Monday due to a strong northeastern monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand and the South. Strong winds and waves reaching heights of 2-4 meters are likely in the Gulf of Thailand, with waves reaching 1-2 meters in the Andaman Sea.

  • Safety Precautions: Residents along eastern coastal areas should be cautious of strong waves hitting the shore. All ships in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to remain ashore until Monday, while other vessels should proceed with caution and avoid areas experiencing thunderstorms.

Prepare for Changing Weather Conditions

As Thailand experiences this significant drop in temperatures alongside heavy rains in some regions, residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates. Taking necessary precautions will ensure safety during this transitional period as winter continues to impact various parts of the country. This article incorporates SEO-friendly keywords such as “Thailand weather forecast,” “cold front Thailand,” “temperature drop Thailand,” ensuring it is optimized for search engines while providing essential information about current weather conditions in Thailand
