Phuket is set for significant traffic disruptions as the Phuket Waterworks Authority (PWA) announces urgent repairs on a leaking water pipe at a crucial intersection near Wat Patong. The repairs, scheduled for Saturday, October 26, from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m., will result in a westbound lane closure on Phra Baramee Road, impacting the local community and surrounding areas.

Road Closures and Traffic Disruptions in Patong Area

The waterworks repair is expected to impact traffic across several major roads in Patong, particularly near the three-way intersection at Wat Patong. Commuters should anticipate delays and possible gridlock on:

  • Phra Baramee Road
  • Phra Metta Road
  • Rat U-Thit 200 Pi Road
  • Thaweewong Road (Patong Beach Road)
  • Ban Kalim Community Roads

The PWA is urging motorists to avoid these areas if possible and to use alternative routes to minimize congestion during repair hours.

Water Supply Interruption Planned for Patong and Nearby Areas

In addition to road closures, some neighborhoods will experience temporary water supply interruptions during the same period. The PWA advises residents in the affected zones to store water in advance to avoid disruptions. The water shutdown will last from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m., aligning with repair work hours.

PWA’s Advisory to Local Residents and Commuters

The PWA has expressed regret for the inconvenience and emphasized the necessity of the repairs to ensure long-term water service reliability. Local residents and commuters can contact the PWA for more information or to report any issues:
