A Kuwaiti tourist required medical attention after a violent assault in Patong early Tuesday morning, August 13. The attack occurred at 7:18 a.m. on the north end of Bangla Road and was reported to Patong Police Station by a passerby who witnessed the incident.

Incident Overview
According to reports, 32-year-old Naeaaf Al Otajbi was found dazed and sitting by the side of the road. Patong Police, after reviewing nearby CCTV footage, proceeded to the scene where Mr. Otajbi provided a detailed account of the assault that matched the video evidence.

Mr. Otajbi described how he was walking back to his rented accommodation when two men suddenly approached him. The attackers struck him repeatedly on the head, causing him to fall. They continued their assault by kicking him in the head and body, with one of the attackers even appearing to stomp on his head.

Attack Details
The CCTV footage revealed that one of the men appeared from behind Mr. Otajbi, while the second attacker, identified by his attire as a motorbike taxi driver, ran across the road to join the assault. A third individual also approached the scene, but footage did not show him participating in the attack.

Following the assault, the three men fled the scene. The motorbike taxi driver crossed back to his original location, while the other two dispersed in different directions.

Emergency Response
After the attack, volunteers from the Phuket Kusoldharm Foundation provided basic first aid to Mr. Otajbi before he was transported to Patong Hospital for further treatment. Once his medical needs were addressed, Mr. Otajbi returned to Patong Police Station to file an official complaint.

Investigation and Follow-Up
At this time, no additional details have been released regarding the motive behind the attack or information about the assailants. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

The incident highlights the need for vigilance and safety measures in popular tourist areas. Local authorities and emergency services have been actively involved in addressing the situation and ensuring that justice is pursued.
