A Unique Fusion of Modern Sculpture and Buddhist Philosophy

The Bangkok Art Biennale 2024 invites art enthusiasts to experience “The Horde,” an extraordinary installation by Thai artist Haritorn Akarapat, set against the iconic backdrop of Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). This captivating display features 15 towering fiberglass sculptures, ranging from 2 to 5 meters in height, offering a profound exploration of relationships, tension, and the beauty of imperfection.

Engaging with Contemporary Art

Organized by the Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation in collaboration with Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, The Horde embodies the festival’s theme of uniting contemporary art with cultural landmarks. Coated in a glossy white finish, the sculptures harmoniously blend with the luminous tones of Wat Arun, reflecting both the surrounding light and the temple’s spiritual aura.

  • Silent Dialogue Among Sculptures: Each piece is uniquely crafted with intricate details such as long, sword-like noses and surface imperfections that create a silent dialogue among the sculptures. The arrangement encourages visitors to walk among them, engaging with the interplay of form, light, and shadow.
