Arsenal Could Land PSG Forward as Mikel Arteta Seeks Bukayo Saka Replacement
Arsenal might have a chance to secure Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani during the January transfer window. Reports suggest the French champions are prepared to offer the player to several clubs, including Arsenal, as the Gunners look to address the void left by Bukayo Saka’s injury.
Saka’s Injury Creates a Gap
Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury is set to keep the 23-year-old winger sidelined for several weeks, creating a significant challenge for Mikel Arteta’s side. As one of Arsenal’s most heavily relied-upon outfield players this season, Saka’s absence has left the team without a natural backup in the right-wing position. This situation has prompted the Gunners to explore potential reinforcements in January, with PSG’s Kolo Muani emerging as a possible solution.
Kolo Muani’s Limited Role at PSG
Signed for £64.2 million from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023, Randal Kolo Muani has struggled to find regular playing time under Luis Enrique at PSG. Despite interest from Manchester United during his transfer, the 26-year-old has started just two Ligue 1 matches this season and played a mere 28 minutes over the past month. Now reportedly available for a loan move, Kolo Muani’s situation has opened the door for a potential departure.
Arsenal Among Interested Clubs
According to the Evening Standard, PSG plans to offer Kolo Muani to several clubs in January, with Arsenal being a prominent candidate. Adding the French international to the squad could provide much-needed depth, allowing other players such as Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus to shift to the right flank in Saka’s absence.
Arteta’s Approach to Reinforcements
Mikel Arteta has acknowledged the challenges posed by Saka’s injury, further compounded by Raheem Sterling’s unavailability, which ruled him out as a potential replacement for Arsenal’s Boxing Day clash against Ipswich Town. Despite these setbacks, Arteta remains focused on maximizing the squad’s current resources.
“My focus honestly now is just about using the resources we have to remain as competitive as possible,” Arteta stated. While he didn’t dismiss the possibility of exploring new signings, he emphasized the importance of internal solutions first. “If something incredible becomes available and the club is willing to pursue it, we’ll have to consider it.”
Prepared for Contingencies
Arteta also highlighted that the club has contingency plans for dealing with injuries, although the simultaneous absence of both Saka and Sterling was unforeseen. “The preparation is done, and we are ready if something happens,” he explained. “If an opportunity arises, we will remain open. But the primary focus is on unlocking the full potential within our current squad.”
Conclusion
Randal Kolo Muani’s availability could present a timely opportunity for Arsenal as they navigate the challenges of Saka’s injury. Whether the French forward arrives at the Emirates remains to be seen, but the January transfer window promises to be pivotal for the Gunners as they aim to maintain their momentum in the season ahead.

Mathys Tel Drops Major Transfer Hint Amid Manchester United Links
Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel has fueled speculation about his future with an emotional gesture following his team’s Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava. The young star has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham all reportedly interested.
Transfer Talks Intensify
With just days remaining in the January transfer window, discussions are ongoing regarding Tel’s next move. Chelsea is reportedly pushing for a permanent deal, whereas Manchester United prefers a loan arrangement.
Tel, who has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, was included in Bayern’s starting lineup on Wednesday for the first time since November. After being benched in Bundesliga victories against Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg, as well as Bayern’s Champions League defeat to Feyenoord, he got a rare opportunity to start.
The 18-year-old played 62 minutes before being substituted for Kingsley Coman. With Bayern’s final match before the transfer deadline set for Saturday against Holstein Kiel, many believe this may have been Tel’s last appearance for the German giants.
Emotional Farewell?
Following Bayern’s 3-1 triumph, a video circulating on social media captured Tel engaging warmly with the fans. He approached supporters, applauded them, and even gifted a lucky fan his training coat. He also took pictures and shook hands with several attendees before heading back onto the pitch.
When asked by Sky Germany if this was his final match for Bayern, Tel responded, “I don’t know.” While it could simply be a gesture of appreciation, the ongoing transfer rumors suggest it may have been a farewell.
What’s Next?
As the transfer deadline nears, Tel’s future remains uncertain. With multiple Premier League clubs in the race, fans eagerly await Bayern’s decision on whether to let their young talent leave. Will Manchester United secure a deal, or will Chelsea win the race for his signature? The coming days will be crucial in determining the next chapter of Mathys Tel’s career.

Arne Slot Praises Wataru Endo’s Resilience After Controversial Challenge in Liverpool’s 4-1 Victory
Liverpool manager Arne Slot chose not to dwell on the referee’s decision to issue only a yellow card to Ipswich Town’s Julio Enciso for a dangerous tackle on Wataru Endo during the Reds’ commanding 4-1 win at Anfield.
Cody Gakpo struck twice, adding to goals from Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, as Liverpool secured another dominant performance. However, their clean sheet was spoiled by Jacob Greaves, who scored a late header for Ipswich.
The match’s most contentious moment came in the second half when substitute Enciso launched into a reckless challenge on Endo, the Japan international. Despite the severity of the tackle, referee Michael Salisbury opted for a yellow card rather than a red, a decision that left many questioning its fairness.
Speaking after the game, Slot admitted he hadn’t reviewed the incident but refrained from criticizing the referee. Instead, he focused on Endo’s incredible toughness and ability to carry on without complaint.
“When it happened, I thought: ‘That doesn’t look good,’” Slot said. “The way the players reacted around him showed me it might be serious, but I waited to see how Wata responded. During the game, he shook it off, nodded a couple of times, and kept going. His mentality is unbelievable, and he was fine.”
Slot continued, “It was only a yellow card, so I assume my initial fear wasn’t realistic. Referees are instructed to make the right call, regardless of the game situation, so I trust it was the correct decision. I haven’t reviewed it yet, but I’ll assume the official got it right.”
Reflecting on the overall performance, Slot praised his team’s strong start, which set the tone for the match.
“Scoring early made all the difference,” he said. “In past home games, we’ve sometimes conceded early, but today we were aggressive and dominant right from the beginning. For most of the game, Ipswich barely got into our half.”
Slot also commended Liverpool’s ability to control Ipswich’s counterattacking threats. “With their wingers and Delap up front, they can be dangerous on the break, but we managed to neutralize that through our hard work. It was nearly a perfect performance for 85 minutes,” he said.
However, Slot acknowledged disappointment at conceding a goal from a corner, their first of the season. “It’s frustrating to lose the clean sheet like that, but overall, the way we handled a team sitting in a deep block for most of the game was excellent,” he concluded.

Mason Greenwood Completes International Switch and Reunites with Former Man United Coach
Mason Greenwood, previously transferred by Manchester United to Marseille for approximately £27 million during the summer transfer window, has officially changed his international allegiance from England to Jamaica. The move comes after the forward spent the previous season on loan with Getafe.
The 23-year-old qualifies to represent Jamaica due to his paternal grandparents’ heritage. FIFA regulations permit such a change as Greenwood only made a single competitive appearance for England. That appearance came under Gareth Southgate when Greenwood debuted as a second-half substitute during a UEFA Nations League match against Iceland in September 2020.
At the time, FIFA’s rules prohibited players from switching national teams after a competitive debut. However, within weeks of Greenwood’s England cap, FIFA’s annual congress passed a rule allowing players under 21 with fewer than four competitive matches to change their national team, provided they met the three-year waiting period. Greenwood became eligible for the switch in September 2023, and reports suggest he has now finalized the necessary paperwork to represent Jamaica.
This development follows England’s Football Association reportedly informing Greenwood that he would no longer be considered for future selection. The player’s career faced turmoil after Manchester United suspended him in January 2022 following allegations of rape. While charges, including attempted rape and controlling behavior, were brought against him, they were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service. Greenwood consistently denied the allegations.
Following his suspension, Greenwood joined Getafe on loan for the 2022-23 season before permanently departing Manchester United to sign with Marseille this summer. His decision to represent Jamaica aligns with the appointment of Steve McClaren, a former Manchester United assistant coach, as head coach of the Jamaican national team.
McClaren revealed during his unveiling that he had spoken with Greenwood before both left Manchester United. This shared connection lays the foundation for a potential reunion on the international stage, with hopes for success under McClaren’s leadership.
