Bangkok Pride Parade Impacts Traffic

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has issued a traffic advisory for June 1, 2025, urging drivers to avoid Rama I Road and nearby areas from 12 PM to 6 PM due to the Bangkok Pride Parade 2025. The event, expected to attract large crowds, will cause significant disruptions in central Bangkok’s bustling streets.

Key Roads Affected by Parade

Pathumwan Intersection Faces Closures

The parade will disrupt several major roads, including Phaya Thai Road, Rama I Road, and Ploenchit Road, with partial or full closures around Pathumwan intersection. The BMA’s official Facebook post highlighted these routes as critical areas to avoid during the event to minimize travel delays.

Additional Roads at Risk of Congestion

Surrounding Streets May Be Restricted

Other roads likely to experience congestion or limited access include Ratchawithi, Phahon Yothin, Si Ayutthaya, Chaturathit, Banthat Thong, Henri Dunant, Ratchadamri, and Wireless Roads. Smaller sois like Chidlom and Soi Somkid may also face restrictions, complicating travel in the area.

To ease the inconvenience, the BMA encourages commuters to use public transport options or plan alternative routes during the parade hours. The authority apologized for the disruptions, emphasizing the need for cooperation to ensure smooth traffic flow around the event.
