Nationwide Traffic Crackdown Launched

94 Checkpoints Target Road Safety

The Royal Thai Police have rolled out the “Safe Roads Project,” establishing 94 checkpoints across Thailand to enforce traffic laws starting June 1, 2025. This initiative aims to curb accidents and enhance safety by targeting high-risk areas, ensuring compliance from all motorists nationwide.

Strategic Checkpoint Locations

Focus on High-Risk and School Zones

The 94 checkpoints are strategically placed in areas prone to traffic violations, accidents, or near schools, covering all regions, including 11 in the Metropolitan Police Bureau area. Spanning Provincial Police Regions 1 to 9, these locations address critical safety concerns for diverse road users.

Strict Enforcement Without Exceptions

Violators Face Immediate Legal Action

Authorities have directed officers to rigorously enforce traffic regulations at these checkpoints, with no leniency for violators. Motorists are urged to adhere to rules in designated zones to avoid fines or legal consequences, reinforcing the campaign’s zero-tolerance approach.

Leadership Drives Safety Campaign

Police Chiefs Spearhead Initiative

Pol Lt Gen Nithithorn Jintakanon, Traffic Police Division Commissioner, leads the campaign under orders from Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Kraiboon Suadsong. As part of a broader traffic management strategy, the project seeks to instill discipline and prioritize road safety across Thailand.

Public Cooperation Emphasized

Community Role in Reducing Accidents

Pol Lt Gen Nithithorn stressed that public cooperation is essential for the Safe Roads Project’s success, urging drivers to respect traffic laws. By fostering collective responsibility, the campaign aims to significantly reduce road accidents and create safer travel conditions for everyone.
