Infrastructure Development/Economic Growth

Enhancing Logistics

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra is pushing for the swift completion of the high-speed rail and land bridge projects, recognizing their potential to boost Thailand’s economy and global connectivity. The land bridge project, involving the construction of deep-sea ports in Chumphon and Ranong with upgraded transport links, is viewed by China as a priority.

Investment Opportunities/Strategic Partnerships

Attracting Foreign Investment

China has expressed strong interest in the Land Bridge project, requesting a detailed feasibility study to explore its advantages. Paetongtarn has also invited Xiaomi to establish an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in Thailand, aiming to stimulate domestic employment and strengthen Thailand’s position in ASEAN.

Economic Impact/Reduced Export Time

Lowering Business Costs

The Land Bridge is projected to cut export times by four days and reduce business costs by 15%, making products more affordable and reducing fuel consumption. This initiative aims to transform Thailand into a logistics hub, creating jobs and expanding trade opportunities while aligning with green energy initiatives for sustainability.
